In the heart of the KZN Midlands Meander, Terry and Di Acres own a magnificent property called Midlands Forest Lodge.  Midlands Forest Lodge has eight timber log cabin chalets.  They are perched high up in Balgowan (5 hours from Johannesburg and 2 hours from Durban) on the edge of luscious green hills and slopes.  This tranquil and secluded hillside retreat has fifteen hectares of pristine indigenous mist-belt forest.  There are amazing flowers, trees and is a natural home to many varieties of birds.  At an altitude of 1340m, you can look over the unspoilt beauty of the Midlands valley.  Care has been taken in making the log cabins blend with nature.  Take a relaxed walk across the grassland or, for the more adventurous, explore the forest with its towering giant yellowwood trees.
